Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about temporary publishing, security, and the self-destruct cycle.
Q.What is Burnpage?
Burnpage is a zero-login, self-destructing micro-site builder. The homepage is the canvas: drop in notes, files, buttons, or itineraries, set an expiration clock, and generate a clean shareable link in 15 seconds. When the timer hits zero, the page is permanently deleted.
Q.Can an expired page ever be recovered?
No. When a page reaches its expiration timestamp, it is permanently wiped from our PostgreSQL database and all uploaded files are deleted from cloud storage. There are no recovery backups.
Q.Do I need to create an account or provide an email?
No. Burnpage operates with a strict zero-login philosophy. You do not need to register, verify an email, or remember a password. We store a device creator token in your browser so you retain administrative control.
Q.How can I incinerate my page before the timer expires?
When you create a page on your device, your browser securely stores a creator token for that slug. When you visit your own link, an [ Incinerate Now ] button appears in the header allowing one-click instant manual destruction.
Q.What modular content blocks can I use?
Burnpage supports 8 modular block types: Text (with slash-command support), interactive Checklists (with real-time visitor toggling), Images/Media, Code Snippets (with syntax styling and one-click copy), Downloadable Files (PDFs, ZIPs, docs), Action Buttons (with external URLs), vertical Timeline schedules, and Map Location cards with direct Google/Apple Maps integration.
Q.How does the 4-digit PIN protection work?
When PIN protection is enabled, the server stores only a SHA-256 hash of your PIN. Visitors see a minimalist Swiss PIN pad and cannot access the page blocks over the network until the correct 4-digit PIN is provided.
Q.What are the free tier limits vs. Pro?
Free users can create pages with 6-hour, 24-hour, and 3-day expiration timers. Extended timers (7 days and 30 days) and secret PIN locks require a Pro pass or burner credits.
